Mommy Monday - Organization Under $5

Monday, January 23, 2012

Our house is getting smaller by the minute!  Unfortunately, we aren't putting our place up on the market until March, so I needed to be creative about how to make our house more organized yet functional for everyone - especially an active 15 month old.

So, for starters, what in the world am I supposed to do with all these toys??  Well, at Lowe's, we snagged these cute little buckets for $4.97 each!

Super affordable yet cute and the perfect fit for all most of my son's toys.  They fit just right  in the corner of the living room too.  When we move to our new place, these buckets will be great for his toy room or even his bedroom.  A great find for such a cheap price!

Another thing that absolutely drives me nuts is the chaos and clutter under my sink.  I actually have to give props to my son's sitter for this creative idea.
We purchased a $4.99 plastic shower curtain rod from Meijer and turned the chaos into this beauty:

It's an adjustable rod that reaches up to 40 feet in length.  All you have to do is extend it from one side of your sink to the other, which then creates hanging room for your cleaners and spray bottles.

Then, we ran to our local dollar store and snagged up a few cute plastic baskets for just $1 each for those items, like sponges and Clorox wipes, that don't hang up.

Organizing your home doesn't have to be expensive. Don't underestimate your local hardware and dollar stores.  Next time you're at Target, hit up their dollar bin too!  Because less clutter means less mess and stress for Mama!

Happy Organizing! :)
