Couponing for a Good Cause

Sunday, March 4, 2012

By now, I'm sure most of you have seen the horrific pictures and heard the unbelievably sad stories about the victims of the tornadoes that hit Southern Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.  As a wife, mother and teacher I can not even begin to imagine the fear, pain and strife these people endured during the storm and now, as they spend their time cleaning up what is left of everything they ever owned.

My friend texted me this morning (holla Megan!) and said her friend was traveling to Louisville on business and was wondering if I had any toothpaste to spare for the Red Cross.  My mind went directly to my stock pile and I started a list of the extra shampoos, razors, soaps that I know I can spare for these people in this time of need.

So here's my request for you couponing friends -- today as you shop, keep these people in mind and see if you can grab anything to donate to the local Red Cross in their honor.  Check your stock piles, get together with your friends and family and let's help these victims out.  Put yourself in their shoes and try to imagine losing everything you owned.  In this instance, a little help can go a long way.
