Mama can hardly believe that summer is over and work has started all over again. This summer was a whirlwind that's for sure! But I feel so blessed to be able to spend my summer vacations with you. We got to spend just about seven long weeks with one another and I'm amazed to see how much you've grown in those two short months. You sure are a chatterbox my little man. It's like one day you woke up and decided you would talk in complete sentences. You are extremely personable too. I can't go anywhere without you saying hello to people or waving until you get their attention. Your newest trick is saying bye bye to everyone as we leave - cashiers, strangers, receptionists - you name them, you are charming them. I have to giggle because you're not even three and such the ladies' man. But I knew you'd be a little stud from the second you were born.
We got to enjoy lots of time outside this summer. Well, when it wasn't rainy or unseasonably cold. You are at a super fun age where we can play together or you choose to play independently. We spent several days at the splash pad by our house. I hope to be able to visit it at least one more time before summer's end. There is nothing sweeter than hearing your sweet little laugh and watching that big smile on your face as you conquer the sprinklers and splashes. We also were able to spend some time at our neighborhood pool. You have become quite brave my little one with your Puddle Jumper. Your favorite activities were jumping off the side of the pool and swimming into the deep end of the big pool. But the most priceless moment of our pool days was when you, my one and only stinker, pulled a dead mouse out of the filter in the baby pool. So fearless...and such a boy.
But the most special part of this summer is the fact that this is our last one before Baby Sissy joins the family. While we still will be able to enjoy our adventures to the park, pool, splash pad and other fun places, next summer we will have a little baby joining our fun. We will welcome her with open arms nonetheless but you'll now have to share my attention with your Sissy. You, my little man, have brought nothing but pure joy to our lives. Your Dada and I prayed and hoped for you for so long and finally we were blessed with this perfect, fireball of joy. This third and final summer together, just the two of us, was perfect my little Monk. I can officially call you a Mama's Boy -- and it may drive your Dad nuts that you have become so mommy dependent these last few weeks. But your little voice, contagious laugh and adorable smile just melt my heart whenever I think about it. As you continue to grow into a little man, my heart will continue to grow full of all of our fun memories ahead as well as remember the ones before - just the two of us.
I love you Monkey!
