It's Blog Hoppin' Time!

Thursday, February 28, 2013

This week I've teamed up with Paula and Julie to co-host the Grow Your Blog blog hop!
So link up, post up and follow your favorite blogs!

__________________________________________________________________________________
Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Grow Your Blog (or GYB) blog hop! Paula and I are so happy to have you link up with us this week. And we happily welcome any new bloggers to the party! :) How has your week been? Do you have any plans for the weekend?

What is the Grow Your Blog Hop all about? NETWORKING! Meeting new bloggers, finding new content to follow, building your readership. Why is blog networking great for you? Simply put, it increases readership and traffic to your blog. How do you network? Visit. Comment. Invite. Communicate. These are key to growing your blog.
GYBNEW2
THIS WEEK'S HOSTS & LOVELY CO-HOSTS!
WHEN YOU LINK UP TO THIS PARTY:
      • Follow your hosts and co-hosts
      • Link up the main page of your blog, not an individual post. You may link up your individual posts to Marvelous Mondays.
      • Visit and follow other bloggers
      • Comment to let them know that you stopped by and how you followed (Email, GFC, Facebook, Bloglovin, etc)
      • Invite them to visit your blog (be sure to leave your blog web address - too many times have i seen bloggers comment and request a visit to their blog without leaving their blog web address)
      • Communicate with them about what you like on their blog. Let them know you are interested in their blog. USE THEIR NAME! A simple "I'm so and so stopping by. I followed you please follow me." just isn't going to interest someone into visiting your blog. Sure, you can request a visit to your blog or a follow along but engage in some type of conversation first.
      • Grab a button and promote the party(you can get the button on This Gal Cooks right here.)

Enjoy Yourself a Cup of Eight O'Clock Coffee or Tetley Tea

Monday, February 25, 2013

If you have followed my blog for awhile, you know that I have a serious love for coffee.
I'm not sure if you want to be around me until I've had my morning java.
But I'm also a huge fan of tea too - especially iced green tea with a splash of lemonade, especially in the summer.

When I had the opportunity to try Eight O'Clock K-Cups AND Tetley Tea, I knew I had to jump right on it!

I have to say that the Eight O'Clock Coffee K-cups were amazing.  I could have made 12 cups of the Hazelnut everyday.  Actually, I hid all the Hazelnut K-Cups from my husband because I knew he'd want to try them.  But the flavor was strong yet the perfect blend to get you moving in the morning.  The convenience of popping the K-cup into my machine before I walked out of the door makes my mornings so much less stressful as well!

Since my husband and I have a huge sweet tooth, I'm always looking for yummy, new dessert recipes to try out.  What's better than combing coffee AND chocolate?  How about topping it off with a cherry?
I simply jazzed up my Eight O'Clock coffee with this sweet indulgent recipe!

Chocolate Cherry Eight O’Clock Coffee

Ingredients
1 rounded tbsp Eight O’Clock Coffee Original or Colombian Coffee per 6 oz cup (for brewing) OR
1 Eight O’Clock Coffee Original or Colombian Keurig® K-cup pack
2 chocolate covered cherry candies (such as Cella’s)
Whipped cream and maraschino cherry (optional)

Preparation

Place the chocolate covered cherry candies at the bottom of the mug.
Pour freshly brewed coffee from pot over candies, or, if using a Keurig® brewer, brew coffee over candies, and stir until chocolate has melted.
Cream or milk is optional as this gets sweet and creamy all on its own.
Top with whipped cream and a cherry for an added touch.

Can we say delish?  This recipe would be the perfect sweet treat after dinner or even served as an afternoon delight!  I can't wait to try it out again with my girlfriends in a few weeks.

But nothing is more relaxing than spending my evenings in front of the fire with my computer, reality T.V. and a hot cup of tea.  I've always seen Tetley's variety of teas in the stores but never had a chance to try it out.  Lately the weather has been brutally cold and I'm just a morning coffee drinker yet I was craving a warm beverage for my evening chill.  Tetley's British Blend serious hit the spot!  The tea was rich in flavor and I loved the stringless tea bags because you could tell that more flavor was left in your cup.

I'm also in love with Tetley's "Turn Over A New Leaf" campaign.   We all make New Year's resolutions that focus on feeling better about ourselves physically, emotionally, mentally and sometimes even spiritually.  Tetley's "Turn Over a New Leaf" campaign was launched to provide inspiration and support for physical and emotional health in this new year.  This campaign is featured on Tetley's Facebook page and fans can ask questions and chat live with real life coaches and experts.   Daily "Tetley Time" shares thoughts on wellness and even gives fans the chance to win Amazon gift cards!

Whether it's a morning cup of coffee or a calm mug of tea, Eight O'Clock Coffee or Tetley Tea are sure to warm up your life with their quality beverages.

The weekends go by way too fast.  And I even had an extra day off too!
I spent my afternoon enjoying some girl time with some friends.  It was much needed after last week's events.  It made me realize how I need to carve more time to see my friends more often.  Sometimes we let the crazies of life get in the way of things and then we always go back and say, "I wish" or "What if" or "I should have."

Celebrating Clifford's 50th Birthday with a Giveaway!

Friday, February 22, 2013

Happy Birthday to the biggest, reddest dog in literary history!
Clifford has turned 50 this year!

Can you believe that?  I loved Clifford as a child and he continues to be a favorite character in my library at school.  Recently, Clifford (or Fiffer as he calls him) has become one of Cohen's favorite nighttime books too.  He actually sleeps with his big red dog at the foot of his bed every night.  It's like Clifford is watching over him - precious, I know.

In order to celebrate our buddy Clifford's birthday, a special two disc DVD is out in stores now! Celebrate with Clifford has seven stories along with five speckled stories.  It's still the same characters we have grown to love - Clifford, Emily Elizabeth and even his buddies Jetta and T-Bone (my favorite).

Check out a clip from Celebrate with Clifford:

This DVD has been a HUGE hit with Cohen.  I love the fact that he's old to enough to make the connection between his stuffed Clifford dog and the Clifford he sees in the movie.  Another great feature about the Celebrate with Clifford dvd is how you can choose to watch specific stories or play through them all.  Cohen is completely glued to Clifford the second the movie turns on.

 So serious about his Fiffer.

We also had fun coloring Clifford with these super cute coloring pages you can print off for your little ones!  I actually printed off a bunch for my students and they have a blast coloring Clifford during Choice Time.

I love that fifty years later, Clifford is still a huge part of our children's daily reading experience.
Continue to share Clifford's tradition by celebrating his big birthday and enjoying this special DVD with your family.

Win It:
--One (1) lucky winner will win their own copy of Celebrate with Clifford DVD.  This giveaway is run via Rafflecopter. The more entries completed, the better your chances of winning! Open to US residents only.

Robby Wash Laundry Ball Giveaway

As a mom of a boy, I am constantly doing laundry.  From food stains to popsicle spots to dirty knees -- you name it and I'm washing it at least once a day!  But the cost of laundry detergent gets pricey, especially if you can't find it on sale without a coupon.  Plus the thought of lugging the jugs of detergent around are annoying to just think about!

Recently I came across the Robby Wash laundry ball and was completely in love with the concept.  It's a laundry ball you can throw into your washing machine - both hot and cold loads too!  You don't have to use any other detergent because the Robby Wash laundry ball contains macro-molecule pellets that gradually release throughout the wash cycle.  The pellets are then activated to penetrate deep into your clothes to clean them as well as get out stains that might be in the fabric.  I'm very specific about the type of detergent I use on Cohen's clothes but the Robby Wash laundry ball is hypoallergenic and completely safe to use your on you little one's skin.  The laundry ball also lasts up to 12 months - yes folks, I said it can last up to a year!  Think of all the money you are saving but using the Robby Wash laundry ball for your laundry needs!

To use the Robby Wash laundry ball you simply put it in your washing machine and start your load.  It truly is that simple.  At first I was afraid that maybe it'd miss parts of my clothing or they wouldn't come out smelling or feeling cleaning.  However, the laundry ball washed my clothes just as great as the detergent I've been using all these years!  My clothes were super soft and the scent the ball left wasn't overbearing at all, like some detergents can leave on their wash.  One important thing you do need to remember about your Robby Wash laundry ball is to make sure you're using it with a full load because the ball can get damaged if it's too light of a load.

Overall my experience with the Robby Wash laundry ball has been nothing but fabulous! My laundry smells fresh, feels soft and is super clean.  The fact that I'm saving money by using the ball is a super plus as well. I highly recommend this laundry investment for your household.

The Robby Wash laundry ball is nothing short of amaze-balls. :)

Buy It:
You can purchase your Robby Wash laundry ball by vising their website.  Also check out their blog for more information on other products offered by Robby Wash and Oransi.  The Robby Wash laundry ball retails for $29.95.

Win It:
--One (1) lucky winner will win their own Robby Wash laundry ball.  This giveaway is run via Rafflecopter. The more entries completed, the better your chances of winning! Open to US residents only.

This product review was made possible by Robby Wash.  I was not compensated for this review other than a product sample. All opinions are 100% mine.

Still Time to Sled?

I decided to make a trip to Target today.  My excuse was because I needed milk and cheese. As I walked in, almost everyone had sleds in their cart! I didn't watch the news this morning, so I assumed there was a big snow storm coming our way. Until . . . . I came across the clearance aisle.

Tah dah . . .

I hope that winter is officially over, but it's always good to be prepared! And, for under $2 you can always throw it in the attic for next year!

Happy Sledding!

Party Time with Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix

When I was offered the opportunity to host a Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink Mix party, I had to jump on the opportunity!  My husband and I would love to expand our family.  Therefore prenatal vitamins have been a part of my daily routine for awhile now.  But there's something about those horse pills that make me gag!  Premama is the perfect prenatal solution!

What is Premama?
Premama is a prenatal vitamin only in a drink mix form!  It's similar to those little packets that you add to your water, only for the sake of the mama, it's a powder that contains all the vitamins and minerals that are necessary for a pregnancy!  You simply add a Premama packet to your choice of liquid - juice, milk or even iced tea, mix and drink away.  Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink is flavorless so you don't have to worry about gagging on taste.  I promise, you can't even taste it. Just make sure you drink your mixture within 5 minutes to help ensure the taste.  What's even better about this prenatal drink is that Premama has even shown that it can help relieve those nasty pregnancy symptoms such as constipation and morning sickness!

Can't get better than that, right moms?

So I decided to throw a breakfast themed Premama party to give my friends some samples as well as let them try it out.  We had a great arrangement of food (including  the bomb.com Sticky Buns courtesy of Julia) and several different beverage choices.  I had each of my friends choose a different beverage to try out their Premama in and then we taste tested each to see if we could could taste the Premama mix.

I know you're wondering -- could we actually taste it?

Nope. Nothing.
Our favorite drink choices were orange juice and pink lemonade.  We figured orange juice was perfect for the morning drink and the pink lemonade made a good choice if you decided to take your prenatal vitamins in the evening.

Our breakfast spread

A few of our beverage choices.  We also tried orange juice and apple juice.

Here are some of the comments my friends made about Premama:
  • Premama packets are handy and perfect to throw into your purse or lunch bag when you're on the go.
  • You can literally add Premama to your favorite drink and not even taste it.  Another one of our favorites was the Tea and Lemonade combination.
  • Since you can add Premama to your drink, the opportunity to trigger the gag reflex is a lot less.
  • Only six calories is a huge plus too considering the weight you already gain during pregnancy.
  • It's comforting to know that it's all natural yet still contains folic acid, DHA and iron -- all of the important nutrients in a pregnant mama's diet.
We had a great time sharing our pregnancy stories, eating yummy food and testing out our Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink.  I love being able to share products with my friends, especially ones that I know will benefit them in their futures! Premama Prenatal Vitamin Drink is the perfect solution to get rid of those dreadful horse pills.
Goodbye horse pills - hello Premama!
