Walgreens Match Ups for the Week of 3/31

Sunday, March 31, 2013

Today was a beautiful Easter Sunday here in central Indiana!  We had sun and 60 degrees -- which is crazy because last week at this time we had a foot of snow and 25 degrees.

We're actually going to celebrate the holiday next weekend when my stepdaughter is in town.  We still talk about the meaning behind the holiday with Cohen, but it is kinda hard to get him to understand at 2 years old.  The older he gets, the more he'll understand. :)

Review: ThinkFun Hello Sunshine

I am amazed at the words and actions that Cohen picks up these days.  He is really into counting, colors and being able to point out the different body parts he sees on you. We are constantly reading books together, coloring and playing little "find and seek" games together to help encourage these milestones.  Last summer I had the opportunity to review Roll and Play from ThinkFun, so when they approached me again to try out their Hello Sunshine game, I was super excited!  Hello Sunshine focuses on gross motor skills and positional word vocabulary while encouraging family play time together.  You simply take turns drawing the cards and then hide Sunny based on what the card tells you to do.  The great thing about these cards is that they have pictures to correlate with the words to help your little one make connections to the positional words and their meaning.  Another great feature about the Hello Sunshine games is the simplicity and functionality - when you're done playing with the cards there is a handy little pocket right in Sunny to store your cards so you never lose them.  That means less mess for mama and family to pick up after playing!

Here we are in mid game action.

Right now, I'm doing the hiding while Cohen does the finding, but we have such a blast playing together!  He is starting to understand words such as on top, below and next to because of our hide and seek game time with Sunny.  Hello Sunshine is appropriate for tots ages 18 months and older too, so Cohen is at the perfect age right now for this game.  The other day in the car I asked him where his GeeGee (his blanket) was and he responds with,  "GeeGee is on top of my head Mama!"  His remark made me laugh because it was so cute plus I love that he is using the vocabulary that he's learning from our game time with Hello Sunshine.

 Cohen loves his Sunny! :)

Hello Sunshine makes learning new vocabulary fun for both you and your toddler!  This game is perfect for just a few people or it could even be a great game for play dates with several little ones.  The teacher in me definitely gives ThinkFun's Hello Sunshine two thumbs up!

Buy It:
--To purchase your Hello Sunshine game or to learn more about the other fun and educational games that ThinkFun offers, visit their website. You can also follow them on Facebook , Twitter, Pinterest or Google+.

A Peek Into Our Family Vacation

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

I'll do a full post on our first family vacation later, but here's a few pics of how we've been spending our week in the chilly (cray cray) Florida weather!

Are you dying at Cohen's fishy face in front of the aquarium?  Seriously, I could eat this kid up!

Tomorrow is our last day and we're going to head to see Winter, the dolphin from Dolphin Tale and hopefully get some more fun on the beach -- the high is 70...HOLLAA!
Let me warn you that yes, you can burn laying out in your clothes.  True story.
Good thing it is not too hot because my meals this week have consisted of nothing less than a slob kabob's menu -- plus I haven't worked out in a week so I feel like Fatty McGee.

 Its vacation though, right?

Happy Family Tme!

Wallaby Organic Greek Yogurt Giveaway

Thursday, March 21, 2013

I'm a huge yogurt lover.  Recently I have started to really enjoy Greek yogurt too!  However, I have my favorite brands that I tend to be more loyal to when it comes to buying Greek yogurt at the store.
My new favorite brand?  That would be Wallaby Organic Greek yogurt!

I recently had the opportunity to try several of Wallaby's Nonfat Organic Greek yogurt cups.  So Cohen and I headed to Whole Foods and we were greeted by quite a good selection of flavors.  I almost didn't know which ones to choose because all of the flavors looked so yummy!  Finally I made my selections and we were on our way to taste testing!

The real test came when I brought the Greek cups home.  Some Greek yogurt has a different texture that honestly makes me gag and I refuse to buy it again.  Wallaby Nonfat Organic Greek Yogurt definitely does not have this problem!  The yogurt is creamy and super smooth.  Then you have a little side cup attached to the main yogurt cup that is filled with the fruit add-ins.  The fruit was sweet and the perfect amount to mix into my cup.  My friend at lunch even commented on how it reminded her of the fruit you'd find on a cheesecake.

But what I loved even more about Wallaby is how their yogurt is made.  The organic milk that is used in their yogurt is from local farms.  By using what was learned about yogurt in Australia,  Wallaby then uses a gentle cooking method to cook the yogurt in small batches that guarantees the soft and creamy texture of their yogurt.  Their products are clean and free of any artificial additives, which makes the yogurt even tastier!

Wallaby Organic Greek Yogurt Cups are low in calories, smooth to the taste and contains premium organic ingredients.  These tasty yogurt cups make the perfect snack or even a great addition to your meals.  Wallaby Organic Greek Yogurt cups promise quality taste that your family will love!

Buy It:
--To purchase your Wallaby Greek Yogurt Cups, visit your local Whole Foods store.  You can also visit their website for more information.

Win it:
--Three (3) lucky winners will win a prize pack of five (5) coupons good for 5.5-6oz products.  This giveaway is run via Rafflecopter. The more entries completed, the better your chances of winning! Open to US residents only.

This product review was made possible by Wallaby Yogurt.  I was not compensated for this review other than a product sample. All opinions are 100% mine.

Terrible TWOSday - Cohenisms Part I

My son certainly has got his own personality.  The more he grows up, the more I see his own little being emerge.  I'm starting to grow weepy at the fact that he'll be 2.5 next month.

(Please ignore the Amish haircut.  We're in the process of growing it out after a horrific adventure to a kid's haircut place.)

He is starting to talk more and more everyday.  Even though he's not always understandable, he sure has his own thoughts with no problem speaking him mind.

This week's Terrible TWOSday post is dedicated to what I like to refer to as "Cohenisms."  You know, those moments that make you laugh with your mouth open or cover your face with embarrassment.
Here are just a few of my favorite Cohenisms from the past few weeks:

--As we are walking through the already too small aisles at Target, we get stopped in the same aisle as an older woman who is having an obvious coughing fit.  Unlike me, who is freaking out from the germs flying through the air, Cohen looks at her very concerned and asks her real loudly,  "You ok?"  Yes you are thinking "Aww, sweet."  I am thinking "Only you child."  Well, she ignores him and then continues to cough again louder and harder.  Cohen looks at her and basically yells, "Hey! Ok?"  Annnnd that's my cue to get out of the aisle....

--Two weekends ago as my husband and I were watching the ever-so-intense IU vs Michigan game, someone (probably Watford) made a horrible shot and my husband (who has the least censored mouth ever) shouts, "Stop being a douche!"  Cohen then proceeds to share his new word with us the rest of the evening as he runs around the house chanting "Douche! Douche!"  Oh if looks towards my husband could have killed that night.

Check out that innocence! :)

--The other evening I was changing a major poopy diaper when Cohen looks at me real sweetly and proclaims, "Mama, I sh*t."  Excuse me say what??  Open mommy's mouth, insert soap, rinse and repeat.

--My family was in town and my brother in law and I got a huge whiff of poop.  Just as we were going to ask what in the heck that was, Cohen loudly points and yells, "Oooo caca!"  at the pile of dog poop chilling under my feet in the kitchen.  Sweet.

Oh my son how you keep me on my toes.  But let's get real - I wouldn't have it any other way!

Happy TWOSday! :)

Mommy Mondays - Recipe Rescue

Monday, March 18, 2013

Long time since I last did one of these posts!
Oh life you tricky little devil...

Things have been super busy lately but I've been making a conscience effort to cook dinner at least five days out of the week.  So I needed a few quick recipes that I knew my family would eat.  My friend and coworker shared this amazeballs little Hot Ham and Cheese sandwich recipe that you bake in the oven.  I decided to make it Sunday afternoon for the family.  Well, I couldn't find the dandy recipe so I made up my own...and it turned out delish!

Baked Mini Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwiches

You Need:
--Little buns - I used a 12 ct of the slider buns from Kroger but you could also use those little Hawaiian rolls too
--Cheese Slices
--Ham Slices
--Butter

How to Make these Yummy Lil Sammywiches:
1.  Preheat over to 375 degrees.

2.  Butter both sides of the buns - top and bottom and place into a baking dish.

3.  Top the buns with one slice of ham and one half slice of cheese.  Place the top piece of the bun on top.

4.  Cover the pan with foil and bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

5.  Serve and enjoy!

These little guys make perfect party sandwiches too for events like baby showers or birthday parties.  This is a super easy recipe for those nights when you don't have a lot of time but need to get dinner on the table!

My family loved them and my husband even took leftovers to work for lunch -- that my friends is a rare occasion!

Enjoy! :)

Happy Cooking! :)

Whiffits - The New Weight Loss Solution!

Sunday, March 17, 2013

Ladies and gents, believe it or not but swimsuit season is right around the corner!
I know, I know.  If you're from Indiana, that statement is hard to believe.
However, it is true and now is the time to get your bod beach and pool ready.

I'm sure many of you can relate to the insecure feelings about your self image in a bathing suit.  After having a baby, everything on your body changes.  Lets be honest, at almost 30 my metabolism isn't as swell as it used to be in my previous years either.  Stepping into that swimsuit makes me cringe just thinking about it.  However, I'm extremely faithful when it comes to working out but its the urges and temptations of those oh so unhealthy foods that get me every time!

Recently I was introduced to a new diet enhancer called Whiffits.  These non-invasive scented wands contain specifically designed scents that are proven to help you with any diet plan you may be using in your life right now!  Just sniff the Whiffits throughout the day and they will release a combination of aroma molecules that trick your brain into thinking you have eaten, helping your resist those fatty and unhealthy foods that totally kill the hard work you have put forth into your diet plan.  Whiffits are small enough to carry around in your back pocket - so you can use them whenever!  The best thing about using the Whiffits is the fact that you will eat less, save money by not buying those unhealthy foods and lose weight -- amazing right?

I promise you - Whiffits are the real deal!  The effectiveness of Whiffits has been proven through clinical studies and show a significant decrease in food cravings as well as noticeable weight loss. Whiffits have been proven to be successful by using them on their own.   However, when you  combine using Whiffits with a clean diet and healthy lifestyle it will only help you lose the weight faster!

The official BioTem Clinical Report confirms the effectiveness of the revolutionary new diet wand with average weight loss of 19 lbs per participant over the course of the study.  Yes, I said 19 lbs! The people involved with the study reported a 50% decrease in food cravings within 5 minutes of inhaling the special diet wand aromas.  Think of all those brownies you will be saying no to and forgetting all about!  Take a look at the information straight from BioTem's official Clinical Report:

"This study conclusively proves that inhaling these specially developed scents in the diet pens results in weight loss without any conscious changes in diet or exercise."

In another study, The Role of Specific Olfactory Stimulation in Appetite Suppression and Weight Loss compiled by the Division of BioTem Cytotechnologies, also confirmed this information:

"One method which seems promising is the role of olfaction in weight regulation. Specifically, the inhalation of positive hedonic (pleasant smelling) scents has been shown to have beneficial effects on appetite and hunger regulation. This idea stems from everyday observations of how food aromas affect appetite and from clinical observations of how patients with acute anosmia often gain weight. These observations suggest a breakdown in an olfactory satiety feedback mechanism. Also, there are scientific EEG and brain mapping studies documenting the effects of the inhalation of particular food scents on brain wave activity."

Whiffits aren't playing - they are proven to help you in your weight loss journey!

Stop fretting about swimsuit season - let Whiffits help you get your body ready by resisting the temptations that arise within your diet.  Bye bye hunger attack snacks of brownies and chips -- let the sniffs of Whiffits keep your diet clean and your body lean!
