Here Comes the Bride with Minted

Monday, May 27, 2013

Okay even though I've been married for almost five years now I still think back on my day and make mental changes of woulda, coulda, shouldas.  Yes, our day was perfect and beautiful and we had an amazing time.  But because of my celebrity obsession (including my mild one with Kate Middleton) I love to think of how I could have incorporated some of these little things into my own wedding had I seen it before.  Planning a wedding was stressful but planning a wedding that happened in another city was even harder!  One thing I would change if I could would definitely have been my wedding invitations.  I liked my invites, but honestly, this was one task that I didn't take time to really look at...and let my mom choose for me.  Now don't get me wrong, they were pretty but just not my style.

Recently I came across a great new website called Minted.  Minted offers a variety of products -- including wedding invitations!  I have had a blast just browsing and daydreaming once more about which invitations I would use for our wedding.  Right now my current obsessions are the color mint and polka dots.  I know, cheesy, but if done in a classy manner it is perfection!  I found this inspiration board on Minted that paired these trends with a classy and elegant invitation.

Twine Mint Wedding by Serenity Avenue, see more unique Minted wedding invitations

I love the writing on these invites!  Bold yet not overbearing -- it really draws your eyes to the important information rather than the fluffy, fancy stuff that I, unfortunately, had on my own invitations.  Plus I can create a vision in my own head of how I would have used these colors in my own wedding and how the invitation would have fit in just the right way   This was one of my favorite invites but honestly it was so hard to choose from the selection that Minted offers.

Minted makes the painful process of creating invitations less stressful for everyone -- and the prices are affordable so you won't go over that wedding budget.  With the variety of patterns, prints and styles that Minted has to offer everyone will surely find their perfect wedding invitation to go along with their perfect day.

For more information on Minted's wedding invitations or other products that they offer visit their website to view their full line.

Kidecals Review and Giveaway

Summer has finally arrived!  That means school is out and the kids are ready to play!  Now that Cohen is older, it is important to get him more active and around children to encourage socialization and age appropriate play.  Besides our adventures to the park, pool, museum and zoo, Cohen will be participating in his first soccer camp this summer!  Even though I will be there with him, he sure is expected to bring a bunch of stuff!  With twelve other little ones plus their parents we are bound to lose something!  Let's be honest - writing names on things is too much of a hassle.  The names with rub off or smudge and then we really won't be able to find our stuff.

Kidecals is the perfect solution for this problem!  Kidecals offers a huge variety of  personalized labels for everyone.  You can search by gender, style, age or even how you plan to use your Kidecal labels.  I ordered Cohen a set of firetruck labels with his name and my contact phone number.  These labels come in different sizes and fit just right on tags of clothing, water bottles, bags and even on the inside flap of his shoe.  What is also great about these labels is the fact that they are waterproof so they won't fall off in the dishwasher or washing machine.  I've washed one of Cohen's cups several times that has his Kidecal label on it and it isn't even showing a bit of wear or tear.  The label on his blankey too is still hanging on with no problems at all -- and we all know how much we wash our kiddos' blankets!

When I was browsing Kidecals site to pick out my labels for Cohen, I had such a hard time deciding which labels to choose from -- they are all so cute!  Another one of my favorite Kidecal labels is their chalkboard labels.  Just stick one of these on the outside of a box or crate, use chalk to write on it and you've got a trendy and adorable way to help organize your things!   Kidecals has a label for everyone and every need.

Before my Kidecal labels, I was stressed about how I was going to keep track of all of Cohen's things during soccer camp.  Now I have a label for everything!  These labels will also work perfectly as Cohen attends his first year of preschool.  Kidecals is the perfect solution -- and trust me, you'll be glad you labeled it! :)

Buy It:
--To check out Kidecals adorable labels and order yourself a set, visit their website.  You can also find them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

Win It:
--One (1) lucky winner will win their very own set of personalized labels for Kidecals - up to a $21 value.   This giveaway is run via Rafflecopter. The more entries completed, the better your chances of winning! Open to US residents only.

Target Match Ups for the Week of 5/19

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

I've been glued to the TV tonight watching coverage on the tornado in Moore, Oklahoma.  I have such a fear of tornadoes and storms -- to the point where I made sure to buy our new house with a basement.  My heart hurts for for these schools yet I am so proud of the actions from these teachers.  In my seven years in the profession we've had two actual tornado warnings.  Nothing of this caliber obviously but still it is a situation in which you have to show strength in an extremely scary situation.  I can't imagine the fear that people endured and my thoughts and prayers continue to go out to them.

I plan on sending some of my stockpile to the Red Cross just as I did last year when Henryville, Indiana was struck with a horrid tornado.  Here are a few deals you can grab this week maybe to add to your stockpiles or to send to the Red Cross to help the victims:

--Ivory soap (3 pk) - $1.24.  Use $0.50 off (May PG).  Final Price:  $0.74

--Clear Shampoo or Conditioner - $4.99.  Use Buy Shampoo get Conditioner free (RP 5/19).  Final Price: $2.50 each when you buy 2.

--Sure deodorant - $1.97.  Use $1 off (SS 5/12).  Final Price:  $0.97

--Up&Up Hydrogen Peroxide - $0.52.  Use $0.50 Target coupon (target.com - first aid).  Final Price:  $0.02

--Up&Up bandaids - $1.39.  Use $0.50 Target coupon (target.com - first aid).  Final Price: $0.89

--Mott's for Tots juice - $1.99.  Use $1 printable.  Final Price: $0.99 -- HOT price!!

Definitely a few great deals this week - remember, any kind of donation counts!

So I've Been a Little MIA Lately...

Monday, May 20, 2013

I'm sorry my friends that I've been a little slacker in the blogging world lately.
But I have a great excuse I promise...

That's right Cohen - you're going to be a BIG BROTHER!

Sorry buddy.  I guess we can't all be excited. :)

Let me just say that in my case there are no two like pregnancies  And whoever said morning sickness happens in the morning obviously never experienced it -- more like morning, noon and night plus in your sleep.  Thank God for Zofran.

I hope to have more baby product reviews, pregnancy tips and photos throughout my journey with Bambino #2.  However, I'm not going to lie, I keep having newborn flashbacks and then end up having mini panic attacks.

So here we go on this new adventure -- just six months left until we're joined by a new little one!

Happy Baby! :)

Whiter Teeth with Smile Brilliant

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

I'm a huge coffee and tea drinker.  Let's be honest, my early mornings as a teacher depend on that cup of coffee or my patience is well, nonexistent.  However, after years of dependance on that daily cup, my poor teeth are wreaking the stain havoc.  I'm totally weird about my dental health too -- I'm a daily brusher, flosser and rinser which also has helped the fact that I've only had one, yes one, cavity in my almost 30 years of life.  But the color of my teeth drive me nuts!!!

Whitening kits or treatments from the dentist are too expensive for this shopping teacher mommy's pocketbook and I'm not a huge fan of wearing those strips that gag me.  So I needed a cost effective solution to my yellowing teeth problem and I needed one fast!

Smile Brilliant offers an amazing LED Teeth Whitening System that will effectively whiten those teeth!  Plus the kit comes with everything you need and it is real easy to get started.  Smile Brilliant's LED Teeth Whitening System is also easy on the pocket - right now you can purchase your system for just $39.95.  That's over 40% off -- hot dog my friends!

Curious about the LED Teeth Whitening System now, aren't you?

Here's how it work:
  • Use the Professional gel whitening pen to paint the top and bottom of your teeth
  • Place the protective trays on your teeth and bite down.
  • Turn on the high intensity Ultra-Blue LED activating light and place it in your mouth so the light is shining towards your teeth in the trays.
  • Whiten for at least twenty minutes and then reveal your newly whitened teeth!
You will totally see a difference after just once use. Since the gel paints on quickly and the LED whitening light accelerates the process, your teeth get whiter quicker helping you show off that amazing new smile.  I use my LED Teeth Whitening kit by Smile Brilliant while I'm blogging, watching TV or even cooking.  It is so much more convenient than the syringes from the dentist's office and the there is a 30 day money back guarantee if you don't see results!  I promise you, I totally love my dentist but he doesn't offer that with his patients.  Smile Brilliant offers you great results at affordable prices -- so there is no reason not to try the LED Teeth Whitening System out.

We all are busy and isn't life easier when we can get things done quicker?  Smile Brilliant's LED Teething Whitening System promises to offer you amazing results in just twenty minutes.  So, grab your pen and turn on that LED light and prepare yourself for a whiter, brighter smile from Smile Brilliant.

Buy It:
--For more information about the LED Teeth Whitening System or any other amazing products by Smile Brilliant, visit their website.

Win It:
--One (1) lucky winner will win their very own LED Whitening System from Smile Brilliant.   This giveaway is run via Rafflecopter. The more entries completed, the better your chances of winning! Open to US and Canada residents only.

Terrible TWOSday - Babe Ruth the Second

Tuesday, May 7, 2013

My husband just finished our fence in the backyard aka Cohen's playpen.  I am SO excited to fully take advantage of this fence this summer as we play outside.  Now there will be less chasing the toddler and more play time!

So our neighbor has a boy who is in Kindergarten and totally unloaded all of his fun toys that he is too big for now on us.  It was like scoring at an amazing garage sale but for FREE!
She gave Cohen this great plastic tee to place his ball and hit it and boy is he obsessed!  He will wake up asking to play baseball and constantly asks to play baseball any chance he gets.  My husband is in heaven.  I think it's precious.  And I'm not going to lie, he actually is pretty good!

Proud mama, I know.  But let's remember, this kid is only 2 and half years old.  I would say he's a slugger. :)

Happy TWOSday! :)

Get Smooth for Summer with Nair Brazilian Spa Clay

After a long and cold Indiana winter, we can all breath and start getting ready for summer!  Last week was beautiful here in the Indianapolis area so I definitely had to bust out my skirts and sandals for the season.
Only there was a little problem that I usually choose to neglect over the winter..
the hair on my legs and body!

Luckily, I can thank Nair for helping me get my skin bikini, short and skirt ready!  Nair products provide professional results at home for staying smooth all summer long – at a fraction of what you’d pay at a salon.  I'm really obsessed with the new Nair BrazilianSpa Clay Total Care Body Trio and Face Trio -- the newest line of depilatories to join the popular Brazilian Spa Clay Line inspired by the beauty secrets and hair removal expertise of Brazil. Each product is infused with mango butter and a├žai berry known to moisturize the skin, and mineral-rich clay known to purify the skin.  So it smells great and makes your skin silky smooth to show off in that cute new summer dress.

The first product I used was the Nair Brazilian Spa Clay Shower Total Care™ Body Trio.  It is the only 3-step in-shower depilatory system, including the convenient Nair Shower Power® technology that works while you shower.  And the price is too great to beat -- just $13.99 for your own in home spa treatment and experience! :)

Here's how it works:
Step 1: The pre-wipe contains mineral oil and chamomile to prepare your skin before removing hair.
Step 2: Apply the depilatory, which is resistant to water through emollients similar to those found in waterproof sunscreens so it will resist runoff while you shower. Keep the area out of the direct stream of water.
Step 3: After the hair is removed, apply soothing post-use gel with Aloe Vera for a perfect finish.

I literally put it on first thing in the shower, did the rest of my stuff and then rinsed it off to have soft and silky legs.  It saved me so much time that morning as well which was great considering I was running late (like always..oops).

The other newest Nair product is the Nair Brazilian Spa Clay Total Care™ Face Trio which is the first 3-step depilatory for the face and also retails for $13.99.  Now, I've always been weird about facial depilatories because the few that I have tried would leave me with red mustaches or burned patches of skin that would dry up and make my face look worse.  However, with the pre-balm and moisturizer you use at the end, my face looked good as new - and hairless!

How does it work?  Well, like this:
Step 1: The first step is the pre-balm, which coats the skin to help minimize irritation and redness
Step 2: The second step is the depilatory. There’s no drying time so you can apply the depilatory immediately after using the pre-balm.
Step 3: After removing the depilatory product, apply the moisturizer, which is similar to a typical facial moisturizer. This will help neutralize the pH of the skin, bringing it back to the normal level.

I love how gentle these products are on my sensitive skin yet offer moisturizing hair removal.  Every time I open that tube of Nair Brazilian Spay Clay it is like I'm in my very own spa!  The smells are amazing and the overall effectiveness is the kind of quality you would expect from spending a day (and an arm and a leg) at the spa.

Strut your stuff and start your summer off smooth and silky with Nair Brazilian Spay Clay Shower Total Care Body and Face Trio.  For more information, visit Nair's website to learn more about Nair's full line of summer hair removal products.
