The past few weeks have been nothing short of amazeballs. I mean seriously, sunshine and 80+ degrees basically everyday. It made for the perfect Memorial Day weekend as well as the best days to celebrate the last week of school before summer break. We literally spent almost every waking hour outside. Cohen would live outdoors if he could and I have. I have no problem allowing him to play outside because he goes to sleep the second his head hits that pillow. However over the last two years I've noticed his skin becoming more and more sensitive. Like when we were in Florida last Spring Break I decided to use the spray sunscreen on him that was made especially for kids. Unfortunately his poor face and arms broke out in a horrible red, itchy rash. I should have known better this year when I thought I'd try the sunscreen again. He literally was a red, itchy mess for a week straight. No more nonsense - I had to find a sunscreen that would allow my kid to have fun this summer rather than making him spend it indoors an itchy mess.
I did a lot of research and looking up brands online. I had done a previous review on the BabyGanics foaming soap and really loved what it had to offer. Since I was already familiar with the company I decided to give BabyGanics mineral-based sunscreen, 50+ SPF a try.
Here are some of the facts about BabyGanics mineral-based sunscreen:
-Contains no PABA, phthalates, parabens, fragrances or nano-particles
-With 100% natural NeoNourish Seed Oil Blend to help nurture and support baby's skin
-Broad spectrum SPF 50+
-Up to 80 minutes of water resistance
-Tear free and non-allergenic
-Pediatrician and Dermatologist tested
So how did the BabyGanics mineral-based sunscreen fair for Cohen?
I have to say I'm definitely a fan. We haven't had any rash breakouts and his skin has been completely protected from the sun through both water and sweat. It's easy to apply and I know for a fact that it truly is tear free because I accidentally got some in his eyes the other day. (And the Mom of the Year Award goes to...) If you're looking for a sensitive sunscreen without all of the additives and such, Moms this is definitely one for you to add to your list!
