Weekend Update - Strawberry Fields

Monday, June 8, 2015

This was one of the first full weekends Kurtis was home since I can remember.  We decided to make the best of it by getting up early on Saturday morning and going strawberry picking.  Lola, however, had a different agenda and decided that sleeping in until 9:00 was more relevant.  Let's be real here, Mama completely agrees.  The weather was gloomy but the temperatures were super nice and the sun occasionally wanted to peek out from time to time.  Spencer Farm was super organized and the people were so friendly.  Cohen had a blast running up and down the row finding the perfect strawberries while Lola was content standing in between Mom and Dad asking "more!" after each berry she finished.  Betty Crocker here then made two pies and is attempting freezer jam this week.  I know, super domesticated my friends.

Sunday started off sunny and ended up gloomy and then got sunny again.  We spent some time at the pool, both kids took naps and Mom and Dad regained their sanity.  We then all decided to partake in one of my favorite summer past times by spending the warm evening with popsicles on the porch.
Seriously, what isn't there to like about summer?

I'm looking forward to a hot week and a few sunny days at the pool before the rain arrives again...just in time for the weekend.

Happy Monday!
