I'm in the final week of my 2nd trimester so I figured I probably should do an update. I find that things are a bit more relaxed when it comes to the third child. I swear Cohen's room was already prepped and painted by this time in the pregnancy. Baby Girl's room, well, isn't even existing right now. My goal is to have everything done by the time she's born.
Reaching for the stars people...
Here are some updates for my final week of the 2nd trimester (which went by way too fast may I add):
Due date: October 12th
Gender: Team Pink I have to say that I never thought I'd be lucky enough to be a mom to a girl but now I'll have two girls! I love Cohen with all of my of heart and soul but boys are exhausting. Props to you boy moms out there times a million!
How do I feel? Fine, huge, but fine. The restless legs are back in full force which don't help with the pregnancy insomnia. I've never had the insomnia before so this is a new realm of symptoms. Honestly I think its my body's way of training me to live on little or no sleep. Once school starts we will see how I truly feel. However, I'm only working two months and then taking the rest of the year off, so there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Did I mention I feel huge?
Cravings/Aversions? Beer. Summer Shandy. Champs. I don't think I have ever wanted a nice, chilly cocktail so badly in my life. Blame it on the home improvement projects or maybe the strong willed four and a half year old who refuses to nap these days, but dear God I want a brewsky. I told Kurtis I wanted a case of Summer Shandy as my Push Present. You think I'm joking?
How do my clothes fit? The best part about being pregnant during the summer and being a teacher is the fact that I can wear workout clothes every damn day. I am not a fan of maternity clothes and quite frankly since this is our last one, I refuse to buy anymore. So I've been digging out the old (and hideous) ones I have and relying on the stretchy running shorts to get me through the day. However, I do feel that my stomach will be playing peek-a-boo at the bottom of my workout tanks here very soon...
Sleep: Restless legs and insomnia for the win. Oh and a toddler with horrible night terrors. But I'll sleep when I'm dead, right?
Movement: Baby Girl is quite active these days. Cohen got to feel her kick and I can see how he understands so much more this time around. She seems to be really low, just like Lola was, so I'm hoping I don't get the sensation that she's going to fall out. TMI, sorry.
My Exercise Routine: We walk 2 miles in the morning and then another one in the evening usually. I just got the new Barre Method Prenatal workout and I'm obsessed. It has five different workouts I can choose from and after doing it for two weeks I am still feeling it the next day. I also spend a large portion of my day carrying around a 23 lb toddler, bending over and picking up toys and chasing a wild four year old back home. So that's even more exercise.
I have started cleaning out closets and organizing things for the big room prep. I'm excited to hit up my new favorite store, Hobby Lobby, and get decorating. I may love it as much as Target, is that possible? If you didn't see my previous post we are doing Baby Girl's room in a mermaid theme. Miss Lola will have a cute pink and gold themed room. I got these adorable gold dot decals off of Jane that just came in and I'm excited to get organizing. I'll post updates and ideas as I get going more.
Recently I started selling and giving away a lot of Cohen's old clothes, which has been really sad to me. I know we are done after this baby but it is hard to think that I'll never go through this process (God willing) again. I am ready to enjoy our last newborn and grow up with our family of 5 (six if you count when Sophie is here).
