My heart has been hurting for this kid lately.  We've been dealing with some mean kids and he doesn't quite understand why everybody just can't play together.  I'll share my thoughts on it later but I've decided to book weekly play dates with his school friends now until the school year begins.  Let me just say one thing - as a parent you need to teach kindness.  And when you hear your child being unkind, you correct it.  That is all.

This is girl is my little BFF lately.  I have to put her to bed, help her go potty, give her bath, hold her hand when she poops -- yes, that is a real thing.  But I love this little bestie - whiny butt and all.

I have to kindly remind myself of her precious smile, chunky thighs and adorable face when I am getting up with her two or three times at night.  I also have to constantly remind myself of these baby blues when she is fighting me tooth and nail to go down for a nap.  Seriously, the sleep regression is over now.  Go the....

  1. Aww, your precious son, it is hard even for adults to understand why everyone can't be nice and play together. I hope he has some fun play dates with his friends. That's funny that you have to hold her hand even when she goes to the bathroom. Kids go through funny stages sometimes. I hope your daughter starts sleeping better soon. I'm sorry you're so tired.
