It has been a month since I headed back into the teaching world full time.  I don't think I have been this overwhelmed in a long time.  With the addition of new curriculum at school, my first baby going to Kindergarten and two children who want nothing to do with naps at their babysitter's house, my life is basically a circus these days.  If only I could have a few extra hours in the day I may be able to catch up on the crazy town called life. My laundry may get washed but continues to pile up on the living room chair just calling for someone to come and fold it.  Dinner usually consists of anything microwavable or precooked that can be warmed up in the oven in under twenty minutes.  And then there's my house. I have been praying that no one will show up unannounced because the mess and chaos is a little embarrassing I must say.

An actual overhead view of my chair right now.  #mommyproblems

This past weekend was full of rain and clouds.  Basically it was God's way of telling me to get up and clean this mess.  And he's right.  My house was a, for lack of better words, hot mess.  But I figured if I did a good, deep cleaning it would make the week more manageable.  So I hit the one place that needed it the most - the bathrooms.  For some reason it is the one room that I always put off the longest.  Don't judge me because I know that's really gross but seriously, the last thing I enjoy doing is wiping down bathtubs and scrubbing toilets.  I mean toilets with boys and toddlers who are in the midst of potty training are beyond disgusting.  You know you are nodding in agreement as I type this statement.  But on a recent trip to Kroger I was able to grab a Scotch-Brite® Disposable Toilet Scrubber which was designed to scrub those messes your family leaves behind!  This scrubber made the cleanup so much easier and a lot more tolerable because of the flexing head design which allows for maximum contact with the toilet bowl.  It is shaped to get those stains that are hidden under the rim - you know, those super disgusting onesSimply just click the scrubber on, scrub your toilets and then dispose of it when you are finished.  Plus, these Scotch-Brite Disposable Toilet Scrubbers contain a built-in bleach alternative cleaner with pumice that works wonders on hard water stains and rust.  After my I was finished cleaning my bathroom, it smelled fresh and the toilets were sparkling clean from the genuine Scotch-Brite scrubbing power.

One downfall of having multiple bathrooms is ensuring they are always stocked for those times of need.  There is nothing more annoying when you have a little one on the potty and an empty roll by the toilet.  Our house is a tri-level too, which means running down three flights of stairs to grab several rolls to take back up to your kiddo, all while praying they stayed put on the potty.  I decided to creatively make something that wasn't a bathroom eye sore yet solved my lack-of-toilet-paper-when-needed problem.

DIY Toilet Paper Canister

You Need:
*One (1) Oatmeal Canister
*Scrap Book Paper
*Tape or Glue

How to Make It:
1.  Clean out the oatmeal container but save the lid - you will want to use it in the end!

2.  Cover your container with your fancy paper.  I found some that matched our bathroom decor.

3.  Glue or tape on your paper to the canister.  I used tape because it was easier for me to secure to the canister.

4.  Pop two rolls in, seal it up and conveniently place within bathroom for future use!

Our toilet paper container has been so handy!  My plan is have Cohen refill it weekly as one of his chores.  Plus, it has also given my husband NO excuse as to why he can't replace the roll of toilet paper when it's actually empty.  Am I the only wife with that pet peeve?

With another work week on the horizon, I am heading into it with high hopes of less stress and a semi-clean house.  The upcoming three day weekend can do anyone's soul good, right?
Happy Monday, friends!
